Leia and her passports. :) Not many 2 month old babies are dual citizens, much less have 2 passports. :)) (Tried to get her to hold them, but it just wasn't happening.) :) She likes to hold onto her soft Tummen toy, though. :)
Now I am washing a massive amount of clothes - trying to wash things up for our trip, so we can decide what we want to take. Farmor asked if Leia has clothes for her next size up, and I said yes, but I realized that we really don't have that much in the next size up. :/ (60-64 or 3-6 months) Not much if anything actually. But we'll be able to buy some stuff in the States. She has grown out of most everything she has, and some clothes she barely got to wear at all because she has been growing so quickly.
We got out our 2 largest suitcases and we hope to take as little as possible and divide it between the suitcases, and then fill them as full as possible with presents for the way home.
Not sure how many we have RSVP'ed for the baby shower, but I'm very excited for it. :) Maybe Mormor can let us know how many are coming. :) I talked to some of my girlfriends, and most of them will be coming, so that is super-awesome (even one that lives in North Carolina). :)) Some will have to work, but I'm hoping that they will be able to get off so they can join us! Not sure my sister, Beverly, is going to be able to make it. She just switched jobs and won't be able to take the time off to come over. So, that is a little sad, I was really looking forward to that, and to see my nieces and nephew (Heather, Kyle, and Kayla). But we hope to be seeing them between Christmas and New Years. My other sister will be there, though, Melissa, with her daughter, Amanda, and my newphews' girlfriends. So, it will be a chance to see some family and lots of friends that I haven't seen in awhile. :)
Our 2nd week there, we will be going on a road trip with Mormor and Morfar to visit lots of family members. It will be a loooong car trip, but you can't get there by plane.. :/ :) We'll be visiting the mountains in Kentucky. Lots of my uncles and aunts and cousins. And a few friends as well. :)
I'm sure we'll have LOTS of pictures to share from the trip. :)
Packing for the flight has been challenging.. :/ :) The check-list that I have for what we should pack for Leia is interesting. It says to pack 1 diaper for every hour of transit. We packed 14. Haven't even tried counting the hours we will be gone.. :/ And we packed a large package of wipes. We're going to take 2 blankets, incase one gets peed or pooped on. We're also taking her small stroller pillow, to have in the bassinet for her. Have to take plenty of clothes to change her into (for messes). And we are going to buy some packages of premade formula that we can put into a bottle and give her while in transit in the airports and waiting in all the lines everywhere. Fredrik and I should have a couple of extra shirts, for spit-up messes, so we don't smell so nasty during the trip.. :/ :) And lots of other stuff, too, that we haven't even thought of yet.
Aina is going to pick Caesar up on Friday, after we have already left. She will get the key and alarm system key from a neighbor on her way home that day. And he will stay with her the entire time we are away. We know he will be happy with her. :) And they will be good company for each other. :)
Leia has been sleeping for awhile now. :) In her swing of course. It is great because if she is in her crib and wakes up, then she is awake, but if she is in her swing, then she easily falls back asleep and what would have been a 20-30 minute nap becomes a 2-3 hour nap and that is more appropriate and makes for a much happier baby. :)
She slept with Pappa and I in bed this morning. :) She usually finishes her morning sleeping in bed with us. :)
Yesterday I put out some Christmas lights for the windows, to deter theives ... Put them on timers so it will look like someone is home. That is the only Christmas decorating we are doing for the house. Seems silly to decorate when we won't be home.
Planning for a long trip is always stressful, but this is a super-long trip and during winter, and with a baby. :/ :) So, we have lots of stuff to keep in mind and not forget to take care of.
So, I should probably try to go pack some. Want to wash up clothes and pack now, and not have to worry about doing that during the week, when time will get more stressed.
More soon - probably pictures!
