10 weeks!

Leia is 10 weeks old today! :) Here is a picture of her with a candy cane. :) No worries..! The wrapping is still on the candy cane.. A little while yet before she gets to taste her first. :) But she enjoyed holding it and as soon as she got it in her hand, she put it in her mouth. :)

She is doing so well! She is sleeping between 6-8 hours straight every night. Usually falls asleep around 19-21.00 and sleeps until 01-04.00 in the morning. And then she will wake up always around 05.30-06.00, and then she wants to stay awake for a little while, and then she usually naps with me for an hour or two in a comfy chair or couch. She averages 1 wake-up during the night.. and we definitely can't complain about that!! Sometimes she naps during the day and not often does she nap for more than 1 hour at a time, but sometimes it happens that it is a little longer.

She is extremely alert and uninterested in sleeping during the day. She is content with just eating and talking and looking around at everything. :)

She talks up a storm! She is extremely vocal and has an extensive vocabulary. She doesn't use the same noises over and over again, she makes complete sentences, with exclamations and facial expressions. You can easily tell if she is upset or happy when she talks. :) She is most talkative during her diaper changings.. then she is very chit-chatty. :) She laughs all the time and loves to stick her tongue out (still). She loves it more if you stick your tongue out. :) And she really likes it if you put your face close to hers while she talks, and then she will touch your face and hold it, and pat it or rub. :)

She holds her head very well and she can sit pretty well, too, she is getting better. She is starting to lift herself up. If she is leaning back, she will raise herself up to a sitting position.

Trying to think if there is anything else I am missing. :)

Most of the time she prefers to drink from a bottle (which she holds herself, and if the bottle comes out of her mouth, she can easily guide it back into her mouth). So, I pump milk and give it to her. But sometimes she prefers and wants to nurse. I know when because she will start to lick my sleeve.. :)

We are hoping and thinking she will get more into breastfeeding again when we get home and things settle down a little. :) We are so busy and seeing so many people, it is just easiest to use a bottle right now anyways.

We are very curious as to how much she has grown within the last weeks. It has been quite a while since she has had a weigh-in with the BVC.. probably about 4 weeks! So, we are thinking about throwing her on the scale with one of us, to get an idea of how heavy she is.

Today we had Christmas in Toledo, with my sister and my niece and nephews, and all their signifcant others and children. :) So, I have TONS of pictures! And I'll try to get those on tomorrow!
