Better.

Here is Leia sucking on her fingers (while at the doctor this afternoon). This is one of the few times that she has actually figured out the concept for herself. She tries ALL the time to suck on her own fingers, but she doesn't understand that she has to hold her fingers out, and she ends up just sucking on her hold hand, and that isn't really what she wants. :) And then she gets upset, of course, because it isn't working out for her. :) But this time it worked, and she pacified herself for awhile. :) So, we are still anxiously awaiting for her to start sucking her thumb, or a pacifier, cause it will make our lives a little easier.. ;)

Right now Pappa is trying to help Leia fall asleep. You have to help her jump start sleeping - she refuses to be put in the crib while she is awake and fall asleep. She refused from the get-go. So, I fed her, and fed, her, and fed her.. Even if she lets go, but realizes she isn't attached, she gets very mad and wants to be reattached, even if she doesn't take one swallow...... :/ So, that is a little frustrating.. :/ :)

Leia slept well last night. She is still falling asleep at her usual time, 7-8, and then she is still sleeping for 4 hours, and then she wakes to feed and sleeps another 3 hours, and then after that she will sleep an hour, wake to feed, sleep an hour, wake to feed, etc... But at 4 this morning, she decided she wanted to stay up.. :/ So, I've been up for awhile, although I did get an hour nap while she was sleeping today. She is still fighting a little with sleeping during the day, but she is getting a couple more hours of sleep during the day than she was - so that is something at least. For a couple of days she was sleeping only 2-3 hours during the day, but now she is up to about 4-5.

We are determined that any time she has trouble falling asleep - that it is tummy trouble.. :/ (like when she was up at 4 - I didn't get her to sleep again until 8.30).. I know my antibiotics aren't helping anything, so that will be good when I am finished with them and they are out of our system.

Although, no one we mention it to seems to think it is abnormal or wrong that she sleeps so little during the day.. :/ So, I guess we shouldn't worry too much.. :/ :) We mentioned it to my midwife and Leia's doctor when they came to visit a week after Leia was born, and they said "she is an alert baby and wants to be awake."
And the only way I can get her to sleep during the day is if I pull the cover over her face (while I am holding and watching her, of course), so that it is darker... And then it is much easier for her to fall asleep.

But she is still incredibly clingy and won't lay by herself for very long without complaining and wanting to be held. But sometimes it isn't so bad.. :/ Like in the mornings - she loves to just lay in her baby gym - so maybe it has to do with how tired she is, too.

I've probably said all this stuff hundreds of times.. :/ So, I apologize if I have repeated myself too much.. :/

But my appointment went well today!
The nurse was very thrilled with how well it looked. And she said that the tube had somehow fallen out itself some time btwn our appointment on Tuesday and today. She said it looked a lot better, and the area wasn't hard any more and there wasn't anything else draining out. She said I didn't need to come back unless it started hurting. So, that is some very good news.

Fredrik had to change Leia's diaper while I was with the nurse (an older woman). And afterwards the nurse asked if she could hold Leia and she probably held her for the same time that she looked at my boo-boo. :)) But it was fun. :) She was in-awe of her and wanted to take her home for the weekend. :) But the nurse had asked me how things were going with the baby, and I said things were well, that she just didn't want to sleep during the day.. And I got another one of those "she is alert" things.. :/ :) So, I guess we shouldn't be worried. :)

Fredrik is doing well. :) Helping out as much as he can when he is home from work. On Tuesday he has to go to Strömstad and work there. A windmill is being built and he has to do some preliminary measuring. And then on Friday he has to go to Nössemark and do some measuring for the sawmill there.

Farmor and Farfar will be coming by tomorrow to meet Leia for the first time. :)

But now it is almost 8 and Big Love is on at 9, so I am going to take a nap until then. :)
