Whatever they had put on the wall and painted on, left a very plastic feel to the paint. So we have started by ripping off what is on the walls, and then we can work from there - like we did in the other room we renovated at the townhouse.
It is sorta annoying that this is the only room in the house that hasn't been renovated in who knows how long.. :/
We are taking the floor up, too, and put down something a little nicer and thicker. We are hoping to get the same wood that we put in the other room we fixed:
Other bedroom we renovated.
Fredrik wants to use the same exact color green. I was hoping for something a little darker.. :/ :) So, we'll see. :) I really like the color we had picked, I just hope it isn't too institutional.
We hope to try to finish it as quickly as we can, as time is running short.. :/ :) We should have started it a long time ago - but we kept going back and forth about fixing it now or later. We hope to make some improvements with the room: adding plenty of more outlets, keeping the stone uncovered, replacing the fernace, etc. (Finishing the balcony off the room is a much later project.) :/ :))
So my job tomorrow is to finish taking off as much as I can with the wall stuff - I'd told him I'd do everything I could reach on my feet (I'm not wanting to get on a step-stool and reach up an awful lot). And then we have to finish taking out the furniture in the room. And then start taking up the floor. The floor is extremely uneven, which is even more why we are redoing the room than that the colors are absolutely scary. The drawers in the changing table won't stay in because the table leans so much.. :/ :)) So, we know we can't make it perfect, but we are going to try to at least make it better! :)
We had a lot of fun working on the other room.. :)) I think we will enjoy this as well. :)

hmm the baby net looks familiar...:)
the pluses and minuses of IKEA, eh?
Probably three-fourths of the cribs in Sweden have that net.. ;) :D There is one that I really wanted from the US, with glow-in-the-dark stars on it, but I didn't think it was so necessary to order "that" from the States. :))
Hope little Vanya is growing well. :)
