Swedes try to celebrate Halloween, the American way, but they never get it right. They want to merge All Saints Day (November 1st) in with All Hallows Eve or Halloween (October 31st), and it doesn't work. Swedes always celebrate a holiday the weekend after the fact, if the holiday is during the week. And that doesn't work with All Hallows Eve.
The first time (and only time) we had Trick-or-Treaters was our first Fall in Nävekvarn, and it was the weekend after Halloween, in the beginning of November. Once it becomes November 1st, the point of celebrating Halloween is absolutely pointless. You have to Trick-or-Treat on or before October 31st. In the US, if a town doesn't have night-treating, then you Trick-or-Treat the weekend before the 31st during the day.
I know this rant is completely pointless... :)) I'm only doing it to show that Halloween doesn't really excist (properly) in Sweden. And I sorta wish they wouldn't do it at all instead of doing it poorly. I don't take Halloween lightly.. :P
We've always tried to plan a trip to the US during the end of October, to be there during Halloween, but it seems like we only manage to get to the US during Winter.
My whole point with this post was to show some adorable infant's Halloween costumes.. :D Halloween is going to be even more difficult for me now, now that we have a little one that can't partake in something so fun. I told Fredrik I want to organize a proper Trick-or-Treating for the neighborhood, and he said it would be easier for us to just go to the US for Halloween. :D
My favorite costumes I found were the Star Wars collection... :D
I found this one first and Fredrik absolutely loved it. :)) It is the Princess Leia costume. And if we have a little girl, I think she is going to have to have this one. :)
And then there is the Darth Vader costume. Not as cute as the others, but definitely interesting. :)
And I think this one is almost my favorite, the Chewbacca costume.. :D I think this one if we have a little boy. :))
The yoda costume is sorta cute, too. :)
And there are plenty of other cute costumes.. :))
Here is the Superman costume for a very little one.
And the Supergirl costume isn't very accurate, being a large fan of Supergirl myself... She is supposed to have a skirt, not pants.. :/ But I understand.. it is October and a bit cold, so they chose pants instead, but it still isn't very accurate... :/I thought these were absolutely adorable! But still a bit too big for our little one.

This is the only one that I found on the same site that is a newborn outfit. Ours will barely be 2 weeks old if it shows up when it should, for Halloween.

Now we have to make sure the Little One shows up when he/she is supposed to, so that he/she can make it for his/her first Halloween! :)
